The Center for the Church and the Black Experience celebrates Black History Month 2013

2002 – FIRST BLACK PERSON TO WIN A GOLD MEDAL IN THE WINTER OLYMPICS

Vonetta Flowers became the first African American to win a Gold medal during a winter Olympic game.
